Four releases come up again and again as days to stay flat. Learn the four names and most of the damage is avoided.

The four

• CPI, the consumer price index. The main inflation number, published monthly.
• PPI, the producer price index. Prices at the producer end, also monthly.
• FOMC, the Federal Open Market Committee. The US interest rate decision, plus a press conference after it.
• NFP, non-farm payrolls. The monthly US jobs report.

Four names, and they are on the calendar months in advance.
