Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions people ask before they join. If yours is missing, ask in the Telegram channel.
Educational trade idea, not financial advice. CFDs are leveraged and most retail traders lose money. We are an independent Vantage partner and earn a commission if you trade via our link.
Is this free?
Yes, all of it: the lessons, the trade ideas and the Telegram channel. There is no course waiting at the end, no VIP tier and no paid "real strategy". You show up and you learn.
How do I start?
Lesson 1 first, then the practice account (fake money, real live prices, zero risk. Vantage calls it a demo account), in that order. Lesson 1 assumes you have never opened a chart in your life, and every lesson after it ends with a "Do this now" block you go and do on the practice account. The practice account is free, runs 30 days, and you can reset it in the app.
Do not jump straight to the strategy lessons. They assume you can already size a trade, and the size is what decides whether your account is still there next month. Open a free practice account
Which broker do you use, and can I use another one?
Vantage. Every setup lesson, meaning the practice account, the app, MetaTrader 5, the first deposit and the first trade, is written for Vantage and MT5 button by button, so you are never guessing what to click. Open a free practice account
You can use another broker for the concepts, because candles, structure, liquidity, news, risk and strategy work the same everywhere. What you will have to do yourself is translate the setup lessons to your platform, and check your own contract sizes and leverage before you use our position size examples, since those two numbers change the lot size the formula gives you.
Is Vantage regulated?
The Vantage group holds licences from several regulators, and the entity you sign with depends on your country. Third-party reviews as of 2026 list ASIC (Australia), the FCA (UK), CIMA (Cayman Islands) and the VFSC (Vanuatu). Check the licence for your own entity yourself, at the bottom of Vantage's website. We are not Vantage, so we cannot give you that assurance on their behalf.
Can I lose more than I deposit?
Under many regulators, retail clients have negative balance protection, which means the account cannot go below zero. Whether it applies to you depends on the Vantage entity you register with, so read the client agreement for your entity. And even with that protection, you can still lose everything you deposited. A large share of retail CFD accounts do.
What is the minimum to start?
A practice account costs nothing and needs no deposit, so that is where you start.
For a live account, the minimum deposit is 50 units of your account currency on the Standard STP and Raw ECN accounts. Our honest take is that around $500 to $1,000 is where you can risk 1% per trade with a proper stop on gold. Below that, the arithmetic gets tight and you end up skipping most setups, which means more time on the practice account is the better use of the same weeks.
Can I trade from my phone?
Yes. The Vantage app and MetaTrader 5 both run on iOS and Android. One tip: analyse on the phone if you like, but place your first trades on a computer, because the volume field is easy to mistype on a small screen and the size is the one number you cannot get wrong.
Do I need experience?
No. Lesson 1 assumes none at all, and the course goes from what trading is to your first practice trade with a stop loss you calculated yourself. What it does ask for is patience: a few weeks on a practice account before any real money.
Are your trade ideas signals?
No. A trade idea is our reasoning shown in public: market, direction, entry area, stop, targets and one line on why. You check it against your own plan, you calculate your own size, and you decide. We post the losing ideas in exactly the same format as the winning ones, because ideas only teach anything if both are there. Lesson 57 shows you how to use them.
Which countries can join?
The community is open to everyone 18 and over. Vantage does not accept clients from every country and the terms differ by region, so check eligibility on their registration page. If you cannot open an account, the lessons are still yours.
Which countries are restricted?
Vantage does not accept residents of the United States, Canada, China, Singapore or India, plus other countries depending on the entity, such as Australia, Japan and Spain. Eligibility is checked when you sign up, so the registration page is the final word.
Our own content is not intended for residents of the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore or any sanctioned country. The lessons themselves are open to everyone: if you cannot open an account, read anyway.
Which markets do you cover?
Gold (XAUUSD) and crypto (BTCUSD, ETHUSD) as CFDs, and nothing else, on purpose. Two markets you know well give you more setups you can actually judge than twenty you half know.
How much can I make?
We do not know, and anyone who gives you a number is guessing or selling you something. What we can tell you is that most retail CFD traders lose money, and that our lessons are built to keep you out of that group by fixing your size before anything else. There are no income claims here and there never will be.
Is this financial advice?
No. Nothing on this site or in the Telegram channel is personal advice. We do not know your finances, your debts or how you react to a losing week. Everything here is general education, and the decisions are yours.
Are you part of Vantage?
No. Profusio is an independent partner of Vantage, not Vantage itself. Vantage does not write, review or endorse our content. If a lesson states a fact about Vantage, check it on their official site before you rely on it.
What platform do you use?
MetaTrader 5 for placing orders, TradingView or MetaTrader for charts, and the Vantage app for deposits and withdrawals. All three are free, and module M2 walks you through every install button by button.
How often do you post trade ideas?
When there is a setup that matches the plan. Some weeks that is several, and some weeks it is none, and we say so. Forcing an idea out to fill a schedule is how a community teaches its members to take trades that were never setups.
What if I already have a Vantage account?
You are welcome here the same as everyone. Keep your account, follow the setup lessons from lesson 16 onwards, which is where you link it to MT5, and still start the course at lesson 1. Nothing you get from us depends on where or when you opened the account.
Can I ask questions?
Please do. Beginner questions are answered in the Telegram channel, in public, so everyone learns. The one question we will not answer is "should I buy now", because that is personal advice. Ask how something works and why, and you will get a full answer.
How do I contact you?
Message us in the Telegram channel. For anything about your Vantage account, deposits or withdrawals, contact Vantage support directly, because we have no access to your account.
