Privacy policy

Who we are. This website, the Telegram channel and the Discord server are operated by Profusio ("we"). Contact: message us on Telegram at @profusio_trading_bot. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

What we collect and why.

  1. Your account. When you create a free account we store your email address, your first name if you give one, and a hashed version of your password. Hashed means the password is turned into a scrambled value that cannot be turned back into your password. We never store the password itself and nobody here can read it. We use this to let you sign in and to save your place in the course. Legal basis: performing the service you asked for.

  2. Your sign in session. When you sign in we set a cookie holding a random token, and we store that token with the date and the browser identification string your browser sends. The session lasts up to 180 days unless you sign out. We use it to keep you signed in and to spot suspicious sign ins. Legal basis: performing the service you asked for.

  3. Your progress in the course. We record which lessons you open, which you mark as finished, and when. We use it to show you where you stopped, and in aggregate to see which lessons people abandon so we can rewrite them. Legal basis: performing the service you asked for, and our legitimate interest in improving the course.

  4. Google sign in, if you use it. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google gives us your email address, your name and an account identifier. We store those in the same way as a normal account. We never receive your Google password. Legal basis: your choice to use that option.

  5. Affiliate clicks. When you click a link to Vantage we record that a click happened, the page or channel it came from, the language, the approximate date and time, and a non-identifying technical reference. If you are signed in at that moment, the click is also linked to your account, so we can see which lessons lead people to open a broker account. We do not receive your name, your Vantage account details or your trading activity from this click. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and funding the community.

  6. Telegram and Discord identifiers. If you join our Telegram channel or Discord server, or use our bot, we may store your Telegram or Discord user ID and username, the date you joined, your language, and your roles in our community. If you link your community profile to your website account, the two are stored together. We use this to run the community and give members the right roles. Legal basis: our legitimate interest and, where you ask us to link accounts, your request.

  7. Email updates, optional. If you ask for lesson updates we store your email with the date and language and use it only for that. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in each email or by messaging us. Legal basis: your consent.

  8. Technical logs. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, meaning IP address, browser type, requested page and time, for security and to keep the site running. These are kept for a short period. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in security.

Cookies. We set one cookie, the sign in session described above. It is necessary for the account to work and it is not used for advertising. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Third-party services you reach through our links, such as Vantage, Telegram, Discord and TradingView, set their own cookies under their own policies.

Who we share data with. Our hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider if you gave us your email, our error monitoring provider, and Google if you chose Google sign in. Each acts as a processor under contract, except Google, which is an independent controller for the sign in itself. We do not sell personal data. We do not share your identity with Vantage. Vantage independently knows who registers through our link, under its own terms and privacy policy, which apply to you as its client.

International transfers. Our providers may process data outside your country. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Retention. Account data and progress are kept while your account exists. Delete your account and we remove your email, name, password hash, sessions and progress within 30 days. Sign in sessions expire after 180 days. Affiliate click records are kept without your account link once your account is deleted. Telegram and Discord identifiers are kept while you are a member and deleted or anonymised within 12 months of you leaving. Server logs are deleted within 30 days.

Your rights. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Message us and we will respond within one month. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children. Our services are for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes. We may update this policy. The date below tells you when it last changed.
