Clear the slate

The first piece of homework, and it is not on a chart. Put down what you already believe.

The first task in this course happens in your head, not on a chart.

Before the trading lessons start, two things go on the shelf.

Forget what you already believe

Whatever you picked up about trading before today, set it aside.

Beliefs collected from scattered videos disagree with each other, and you have no way yet to tell which one was right. Carrying them in means arguing with every lesson.

Start from nothing rather than from a pile you cannot sort.

Stop asking about the later terms

Beginners arrive wanting to know about the terms they have heard elsewhere, before the basics are in place.

Every one of those is taught in this course, in the position where it makes sense. Pulled forward, a term is a word you can repeat and cannot use.

The terms arrive in order, and the order is the point.

Why this comes first

A blank slate is what lets a beginner learn quickly. Nothing has to be unlearned mid way.

It also removes the main source of frustration. Lessons only feel wrong when they are being measured against something you half believe.

Clearing out costs nothing and saves months.

Do this now

Everything you believed about trading before today goes on the shelf, starting now.

Your curiosity does not have to go with it. Write down every term you have heard and cannot yet explain. The list keeps them out of your way until the lesson that covers each one.

Which trading terms have you heard but never had explained?
