The uptrend
An uptrend is a sequence you can point at: each high above the last high, each low above the last low, until that sequence breaks.
An uptrend has an exact definition. It is not a feeling about a chart, and two people reading the same chart should get the same answer.
Highs and lows
A high is a point where price stopped rising and turned down. A low is a point where price stopped falling and turned up.
Mark them left to right as they happened. Module 6 gives the exact rule for marking one. For this module, the turning points are enough.
A chart is a sequence of highs and lows. Everything here reads that sequence.
The definition
An uptrend is two things at the same time. Each new high is above the previous high, and each new low is above the previous low.
