Closing past the level

The rule of the module. In an uptrend you watch the last swing low, in a downtrend the last swing high, and the break is a close beyond it.

You have a trend and you have an exact price. This lesson is the test that connects them.

Watch one side only

In an uptrend, watch the most recent swing low. That low is what is holding the trend up.

In a downtrend, watch the most recent swing high. That is the ceiling the trend keeps pushing down from.
