Wanting no trade
The starting position that makes patience easy: open the chart hoping to find nothing, and make the market prove you wrong.
Most traders open the chart looking for a trade. That is the wrong starting position, and it decides the outcome before the session begins.
Start from no
Come into the session wanting not to trade. Nothing on the screen is a setup until it proves otherwise.
Started from yes, you will find something. Any chart, any hour, contains a shape that resembles a reason. Started from no, only a setup that actually clears the bar can move you.
The market has to give you the reason. You do not go looking for one.
Forcing is a bias problem
A forced trade is you deciding what price should do and then acting as though it agreed.
