The rule for every high impact release is the same. The number prints first, then you look.

Nothing goes on beforehand

No new position in the minutes before a release. No pending orders left sitting there either, because they will be triggered by the release whether you are watching or not.

The reason is not that the move will go against you. The reason is that nobody in the world knows which way it goes, including the people who write the forecast.
