Hard Work

Hard WorkLesson 2 of 94 min read

Four times the work

A blunt way of sizing the gap between you and someone who is already good, and the study volume that sits behind a working method.

If the last lesson said work more, this one says how much more.

The multiple

To reach the top of a field, plan on doing around four times the work the person at the top is doing now.

The reasoning is in the second half of it. They are not working as hard today as they did when they were where you are. You are matching the version of them from years ago, not the version you can see.

Four times what the top of the field does now, because that is roughly what they did then.

What that looked like in practice

A realistic figure from someone who learned this the long way: around eight hours a day of study, more than ten books on trading and more than ten on psychology.
