Learn from Losses

Learn from LossesLesson 4 of 95 min read

The journal shows it

Why a losing run cannot be diagnosed from memory, and the exercise that turns a stack of losses into one thing to fix.

Sorting a loss into a kind only works if you can see the losses together. Memory does not hold them that way.

Memory keeps the wrong ones

Asked what went wrong lately, you will describe the worst trade and the most recent one. Both are vivid and neither is representative.

The pattern lives in the ordinary losses you have already forgotten. Those are the ones repeating.

Without a written record you diagnose the loudest trade, not the common one.

Read them together

Take your last ten losses and put them in one list, one line each. Module 11 already asked for one line after every loss, and this is what that line was for.
