Read the distance
The stop distance is a measurement, and the chart has a tool that produces it, updates as you drag it, and prices the trade before you click.
Of the three inputs, the stop distance is the one people get wrong, usually by counting candles or estimating.
Let the chart measure it
Every charting platform has a position tool. On TradingView they are called long position and short position.
Drag it from your entry price to your stop price. The box that appears states the distance, and it does the subtraction for you.
The stop distance is measured, not estimated.
Worked on the gold long
Place the tool at the 2,410 entry and pull the lower edge down to 2,402.
