Journaling Trades

Journaling TradesLesson 1 of 105 min read

What it captures

What a trade journal is actually for, why a record of results is not one, and the seven fields every entry carries.

Module 41 had you read your losses together to find the mistake that repeats. This module is what you write down so that reading is possible.

The purpose

A journal captures every factor that could have affected the trade.

Not the ones that seem important afterwards. Every one, because you do not know yet which of them is the one that keeps costing you.

The journal records the conditions around a trade, not the trade's outcome.

A result is not a record

An entry that reads gold, long, closed for a small loss tells you nothing you can act on.
